How to Make Your Own Sorghum Supplement

Sorghum is a gluten-free ancient grain packed with vitamins and minerals and as of now sorghum is not genetically modified. On top of that sorghum is pretty cheap. However there’s not a single sorghum supplement out in the market.

You don’t need a sorghum supplement when you can create your own though.

You’ll need these things:

  1. Some sorghum seeds
  2. A blender
  3. A glass jar

Upsides of Sorghum

Gluten free – Sorghum is a gluten free grain. This is not good news for the men with gluten problems. Its good news for all men because gluten doesn’t have many ups, but it has a lot of downs, and it doesn’t click much with testosterone and other androgens.

Vitamin and mineral packed – A cup of sorghum packs 143g of carbs, 12g of fiber, and 22g of protein. Its rich in iron, niacin, thiamin, and phosphorus, and has a good amount of magnesium, copper, calcium, zinc, and potassium.

Antioxidants packed – Sorghum has a lot of phytochemicals. Phytochemicals are antioxidants found in plants. Good thing about phytochemicals is they inhibit aromatase activity (study). Then antioxidants lower oxide stress, cortisol, and increase testosterone (study).

Its said that the bran layer of sorghum has significantly higher amounts of antioxidants than fruits such as blueberries, strawberries and plums (study).

Good fiber source – Too much fiber is no good since it flushes androgens down your system. Too little is no good either because it will leave estrogens longer in your body. You want fiber in moderation and sorghum is a great source of it. Other great sources of fiber are potatoes, buckwheat, fruits, and vegetables.

Non genetically modified – Unlike a lot of foods in today’s fucked up world, sorghum is pure. Its not genetically modified.

Improves insulin sensitivity – Sorghum brans have a high phenolic content and high antioxidant property that inhibit protein glycation, whereas wheat, rice or oat bran, and low-phenolic sorghum bran did not (study). This improves diabetic problems and insulin resistance.

Androgenic – A study found that sorghum bicolor, the commercially used grain, increases 5 alpha reductase activity by54%. That’s a big increase, not many foods will get you an increase like that.

You’ll need these things.
